Principal's Message
Dear Parents, Carers, Students, and Friends of the Xavier Catholic College Community,
This past Sunday, the Church celebrated Pentecost Sunday—a powerful moment in our liturgical calendar that marks the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples and the birth of the Christian Church. For us at Xavier, rooted deeply in Ignatian spirituality, Pentecost reminds us to seek God in all things and to recognise the Holy Spirit at work in our own lives and in each other. It is this presence of the Spirit that inspires our shared mission, guides our community, and calls us into deeper communion with one another.
As we reach Week 7 of what has been a very full and fast-paced Term 2, we find ourselves entering the ‘business end’ of the term. Exams and assessments are now well underway across all year levels. I encourage all students to remain focused in the classroom, committed to their preparation, and courageous in reaching their potential. This is a time for persistence and positivity, and we are proud of how our students are engaging.
Congratulations must go to our Curriculum Team and Leaders of Learning, who this week successfully rolled out the new Stage 5 “Revitalised Electives” program for Year 9, 2026. This exciting initiative represents a significant improvement in curriculum choice and engagement. These excellent preparations will ensure the program is both effective and impactful for our students in the years to come.
With just three weeks to go in the term, I ask our students to stay strong, stay positive, and reach out for help if they need it. We want every student to finish the term on a high note — but not before Friday 4 July! Our College values hard work and commitment, and we continue to ‘teach and learn right up to the final whistle.’
A reminder that we are now in the final countdown to our 25 Years of Xavier Jubilee Mass, to be held on Wednesday, 2 July, presided over by Bishop Greg and attended by many special guests. We are calling on our full community—staff, students, and families—to show strong support and pride in our College on this momentous occasion. Your presence will help make this a truly special day.
Week 9 also brings our Jesuit Ethos and Identity Review. This is a vital opportunity for reflection and growth as a College. We welcome the involvement of parents and carers in the interview process. If you are interested in contributing to this important review, please let me know—we would love to have your voice included.
As always, if the College can support you or your family in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We want Xavier to be a community where all feel supported, connected, and proud to belong.
Wishing you God’s blessings in the weeks ahead. If you have any concerns or need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at the College.
Election of our New Pope
Since I last wrote to you, the Catholic world has experienced a momentous event with the appointment of our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. His election marks a new chapter for the Church, and we hold great hope that his leadership will continue to build on the legacies left by Pope Francis, especially his messages of mercy, inclusion, and care for creation.
Pope Leo XIV brings with him a fresh perspective and a commitment to guiding the Church in a contemporary world. We look forward to learning more about his vision, and we pray that he will be a shepherd we can all identify with — someone who speaks to the challenges and hopes of our time while remaining grounded in the Gospel.
At Xavier Catholic College, we are proud to be a true work of the Church — living out our mission as people of God. In our classrooms, on the sporting fields, in our service programs, and in our daily interactions, we strive to reflect the love of Christ and the values of our Catholic tradition. The appointment of a new Pope invites us to renew our own commitment to the mission of the Church in our local community, with faith, courage, and hope.
Congratulations
There is so much to celebrate in the life of our College. Firstly, congratulations to our Curriculum Team Leaders and our Leaders of Learning for the outstanding design of the new Stage 5 ‘Revitalised’ Elective Courses Program. This exciting initiative, launched this week to our current Year 8 students and their families, will be offered to Year 9 in 2026 and Year 10 in 2027, and reflects a forward-thinking, student-centred approach to learning. It is encouraging to see such innovation shaping the future of teaching and learning at our College.
Congratulations also to our champion Cross Country athletes, who truly blitzed the competition at the recent Diocesan Championships. We are proud to share that Xavier was named Champion School — a wonderful achievement and testament to the talent, commitment, and team spirit of our students.
In the spirit of stewardship and community service, a big thank you and congratulations to our staff, our Year 11 Catholic Faith in Action students, and our enthusiastic Year 7 ‘tree planters’, who recently planted 1,000 trees at Lennox Point. It was a fantastic day of hands-on learning and ecological action, and a great example of our College living out its mission to care for our common home.
Our Year 8 students and staff are also to be commended as they prepare for their upcoming Camp to Tyalgum and participate in the Year 8 Pastoral Program here at the College. These experiences are a vital part of their growth, helping to build resilience, teamwork, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves and others.
And finally, congratulations to our Year 7 and Year 9 students on their excellent NAPLAN results for 2025. These results reflect the strong learning culture we continue to foster at Xavier, and we acknowledge the hard work of students, staff, and families in achieving such commendable outcomes.
There is so much happening and so much to be proud of. Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff. Together, we continue to build a strong, vibrant, and faith-filled community.

Xavier Parent Community Group Meeting – Term 3
At Xavier Catholic College, we value strong partnerships between home and school, and our Parent Community Group is an important way we work together to support our students.
It was disappointing to have only four parents attend our recent Term 2 Parent Community Group meeting. While we understand the many demands on families, we are always seeking to provide relevant and engaging opportunities for connection and conversation.
With that in mind, we are very pleased to invite all parents and carers to a special Term 3 Parent Community Group session, featuring guest speaker Chris Hudson. Chris will be presenting on the topic:
"Communicating Effectively with Teenagers"
Chris is a parent, coach, speaker, and trainer who specialises in helping adults connect with young people in ways that are constructive, respectful and effective. His presentation promises to be both practical and insightful—especially in the often challenging area of parent-teen communication.
We will be hosting this event on:
- Wednesday 3 September
- Xavier Catholic College Ballina
- Time and venue details at the College will be confirmed closer to the date.
Please note this event replaces our regular Term 3, Week 5 Parent Community Group Meeting, originally scheduled for 21 August.
There is no cost to attend, and all parents and carers are warmly encouraged to come along. We believe it will be an evening of great value for anyone raising teenagers in today’s world.
For more information about Chris and his work, you can visit his website: understandingteenagers.com.au
We hope to see a strong turnout and look forward to welcoming many of you there.
We Have Space for Student Enrolments in 2025
The College is currently accepting additional enrolments for Years 7 to 12 for the 2025 academic year. We encourage parents and carers to share information about our College within the community to inspire additional enrolments. Interested families can contact our Enrolments Team for more details or to arrange a meeting with the Principal to discuss enrolling at Xavier this year. We look forward to welcoming new families to our Xavier community.

May this Jubilee Year inspire us all to be Pilgrims of Hope, walking together towards a future filled with promise.

Student Messages
If you have a message for your son/daughter, please let the Front Office staff know before lunchtime (1:00pm) as classes will not be interrupted to pass on routine messages. In case of emergencies, there will be exceptions to this rule. However, we cannot always guarantee a message will reach your child in time, particularly if they are involved in an excursion, examination, or practical class.
Please note that during examination blocks (i.e. HSC, Trial HSC), announcements will not be made over the loudspeaker. Where possible, please ensure that your child is informed of any need to leave class before commencing the school day so they are able to present at the office at the required time. Examination block dates may be found within the College's Term Planners.
Medical Conditions & Student Care Plans
As part of the College's duty of care, we must keep up-to-date action plans for students with recorded serious medical concerns, such as asthma or anaphylaxis.
Action plans must be reviewed every 12 months in line with the College's health support planning. This forms part of our obligations under the WHS Act 2011 to ensure students are not exposed to risks to their health and safety while at school.
If your child's action plan is out of date, please provide a new plan to the College via email (xavier@lism.catholic.edu.au) as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or wish to review your child's recorded medical details, please email the College (xavier@lism.catholic.edu.au).
Thank you for your support!
Assistant Principal: Learning & Teaching
It has been another busy and productive time at the College for both students and staff. The recent Professional Learning Day was particularly significant, as teachers worked to plan and implement the NSW curriculum reform. This work will underpin the success of learning and teaching in the College for both present and future students. The staff worked in their Professional Learning Teams, demonstrating outstanding professionalism and dedication, to bring learning to life for the next generation of learners.
Stage 5 Revitalisation — Elective Pathway Courses
As part of our commitment to curriculum development and innovation, the College will introduce Pathway elective courses for Year 9 students in 2026. These electives will provide a platform for students to engage in their learning by exploring academic disciplines that spark their curiosity, and are designed to target transferable skills that students will need in their future careers and lives.
The Principles of Deep Learning, which are embedded in Pathway Electives, are aligned with the well-respected global research conducted by Michael Fullan et al. The purpose of Deep Learning is to enable all learners to contribute to the common good, address global challenges, and flourish in a complex world.
Parents and students were welcomed to the College this week for the Elective Pathway Launch Evening, where they explored displays presented by different learning areas. The feedback from the night was overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to delivering these courses with great anticipation next year.
Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences
This term, we have welcomed many parents of Year 11 and 12 students to meet with teachers to discuss their students’ progress. As our students' first teachers, we very much value these family partnerships.
Conferences for students in Years 7-10 will be held early in Term 3, following the issue of reports.
Year 10 Assessment Block
The Year 10 Assessment Block commenced on Friday 6 June, and will conclude on Friday 20 June. I congratulate students on their preparation and excellent conduct during the examination period. Students are reminded to submit an Absence from Assessment form (available on the College website under the Learning Tab/Assessment Information/Year 10) if they are unable to attend a scheduled examination due to illness or misadventure. Supporting documentation is required to be submitted with the form to receive special consideration for individual circumstances.
Subject Selections
Students in Years 8 and 10 are reminded to consider their upcoming subject selections, which will take place on Monday 30 June (Week 10). Subject Selection Handbooks and Subject Selection Websites are linked on the College website for both year levels. Parents and Carers are strongly encouraged to discuss subject selections with their child and to use the information provided to support the discernment process.
Parents and carers of Year 10 students are reminded that individual conferences with a Leader of Learning will be held on Monday 23 June (Week 9) in the Magis Undercroft. The purpose of the conference is to accompany students as they discern their pattern of study prior to online subject selections on Monday, 30 June. The ultimate goal of the meetings is to support informed decision-making so that students enjoy their learning, love attending school at Xavier, and feel confident that they are investing their time wisely to prepare for their future beyond school.
School Reports
Year 12 reports were made available via Compass on Friday 2 May, and Year 11 reports on Friday 6 June. Students were provided with an overview of their progress, accompanied by commendations and recommendations from their teachers. This critical feedback is invaluable for students to support their individual goal setting and ongoing learning growth.
Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 reports will be issued early in Term 3.
Year 11 & 12 Award Ceremonies
It was with great pleasure that we recognised and congratulated our Year 12 students on Wednesday 14 May, presenting Academic Excellence and Consistent Effort Awards. Congratulations to all students who received Mid-Course awards.
Year 11 Awards will be presented on Wednesday, 25 June; we look forward to celebrating the diligent application and learning success of our wonderful Year 11 cohort.
Ms Carmel Zuino
Assistant Principal: Learning & Teaching
Absence from Assessment Procedure
For students in Years 10, 11 & 12
If your child is unable to complete upcoming assessment tasks or requires special consideration at this time, please encourage them to speak with their classroom teacher or the relevant Leader of Learning.
They must also submit a response to the Absence from Assessment & Request For Special Consideration form, which will be used to consider individual circumstances whereby extensions or alternate tasks may be deemed most appropriate for a particular student.
Please note that your child must submit the form using their school login details. Parents are unable to submit on behalf of their children.

Assistant Principal: Mission
Pentecost
At our parishes over the weekend, fifty days after Easter, we celebrate Pentecost, the moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples as they gathered in unity and prayer. This remarkable event marks the beginning of the Church’s mission to proclaim “the marvels of God” (Acts 2:11) to the world. Pentecost is a powerful reminder that the Church was born through the inspiration and courage given by the Holy Spirit. The colour red, worn in churches on this day, symbolises the fire and energy of that Spirit, a Spirit that continues to move in our lives today. As a Catholic community, Pentecost invites us to be people of inclusion, compassion and bold faith. We are called to open our hearts to the Holy Spirit and allow it to guide us in how we treat one another, how we serve others and how we live out the Gospel in our daily lives. May we all, students and families alike, be moved by the Holy Spirit to build a community marked by kindness, courage and love.
Reconciliation Week — Bridging Now to Next
From 27 May to 3 June, Xavier Catholic College observed National Reconciliation Week (NRW), a significant time for all Australians to reflect on our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to consider how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in our country. The theme for Reconciliation Week 2025, Bridging Now to Next, invites us to honour the past while working together toward a more just and unified future. As part of our Week 5 Assembly, we acknowledged the challenges of the past and turned our focus toward the ongoing journey of healing, understanding and unity. It was a meaningful opportunity for our community to learn, reflect and recommit to walking together in the spirit of reconciliation.
Photo Days
Thank you to our parents and carers for your ongoing support in the lead-up to our College Photo Days. Your efforts in ensuring that students arrived in full uniform and with a high standard of personal presentation were clearly evident and greatly appreciated. These occasions provide an opportunity to reflect the pride we have in our College and the shared responsibility we hold in maintaining these expectations. We encourage families to continue reinforcing these standards each day. Consistent attention to uniform and presentation not only reflects respect for our College values but also helps to foster a strong sense of belonging, discipline and personal pride among students. Together, let us continue to support our young people in meeting the expectations that contribute to a positive, respectful and high-achieving school culture.
Lennox Headland Tree Planting Day – A Celebration of Community and Care for Creation
On Friday 6 June, Year 11 Catholic Faith in Action students, along with selected Year 7 students, took part in the Lennox Headland Tree Planting Day, which this year celebrated its 20th anniversary. This annual community event provides a valuable hands-on learning experience for students across the Northern Rivers, as they join volunteers in planting trees to help restore and preserve the local environment. Together, students and community members planted 1000 trees along the Lennox Headland. The event also took place in the same week as World Environment Day (Thursday 5 June), making it a powerful opportunity for local action that reflects global responsibility. For our Xavier students, it was a chance to live out the values of stewardship and ecological justice, inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ and the call to care for our common home. We are proud of our students’ thoughtful engagement and participation in this important initiative.

Catholic Faith in Action News
On the morning of Friday 6 June, the Year 11 Catholic Faith in Action (CFA) students took part in a meaningful excursion to Pat Morton Lookout, Lennox Head, to assist in planting 1,000 trees as part of a local environmental initiative. We were blessed with a beautiful, sunny day – perfect weather for outdoor service and community engagement.
The students joined a dedicated group of volunteers, including members of the local community and students from a nearby primary school. It was a wonderful example of different generations coming together for a shared purpose: caring for our common home. The CFA students were truly sensational in their efforts. They showed excellent focus, enthusiasm, and teamwork throughout the morning. With a willingness to get their hands dirty, they fully embraced the physical work of planting, digging, and mulching, demonstrating a strong commitment to stewardship and service, key values of our Catholic faith.
The Lions Club generously provided a free sausage sizzle, which was a much-appreciated reward after a morning of hard work. It was also a great opportunity for the students to connect with other volunteers and reflect on the importance of giving back to the environment and the community.
This excursion not only supported a valuable environmental cause but also allowed students to live out their faith in action. Their positive attitude, cooperation, and service-mindedness made a lasting impression. It was a powerful reminder that small actions, done with great love, can make a big difference.
The event was broadcast on the news with some of our students making the final cut! https://www.nbnnews.com.au/2025/06/06/local-students-plant-1000-trees-at-lennox-headland/

Maths News
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
As we continue striving for excellence in Mathematics across our school, I’d like to highlight some key initiatives and resources that are supporting our students’ learning journey.
Maths Study Group – Thursdays After School
We are pleased to offer a Maths Study Group every Thursday afternoon from 3:15 to 4:15 pm in the library. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to receive extra support, collaborate with peers, and reinforce concepts covered in class. All students are welcome, whether they need help with a particular topic or simply want a quiet place to study.
Homework and Practice
Regular homework remains a vital part of Mathematics education. It allows students to consolidate essential skills, deepen their understanding, and build confidence. We encourage students to approach their homework with a growth mindset — mistakes are a natural part of the learning process and an opportunity for improvement.
Online Learning Platforms – Education Perfect & IXL
Every student has access to Education Perfect and IXL, two adaptive online platforms that tailor content to each learner’s ability and progress. These tools provide targeted practice, instant feedback, and clear explanations, helping students to master key concepts at their own pace. Regular use of these platforms has been shown to significantly boost both skill retention and academic confidence in mathematics.
We are committed to supporting every student in achieving their full potential in Mathematics. If you have any questions about how to best support your child at home, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Below is a difference pyramid problem to practice your problem-solving skills.
Warm regards,
Brendan Fox

Congratulations to Sophia Davy!
CONGRATULATIONS to Sophia Davy in Year 7, whose painting Mario has been selected for ‘Let’s Hang It! 2025’ — The University of New England School Acquisitive Art Prize in Armidale.
Exhibition dates: 25 July to 10 August
Sophia is amongst a group of 60 finalists in the 2025 University of New England School Acquisitive Art Prize. This is an amazing achievement given there were 583 art entries this year from 50 schools. The selection committee commented that there was wonderful expression of creativity and diverse styles represented which made the selection process very difficult, given the high standard across all entries.
Sophia learned about the art exhibition opportunity through her involvement in Art Club. I am proud of her initiative and creative achievement.

Year 9 Child Studies reconnect with St Anne’s Long Day Care Centre classrooms
This term, Year 9 Child Studies students have been exploring “The Wonder of Life”, focusing on the journey from conception to birth. In addition to classroom learning, students continue their visits to St Anne’s Long Day Care Centre. These interactions provide practical insights into child development and wellbeing, reinforcing classroom concepts through real-world observation and engagement.
We extend our sincere thanks to St Anne’s Long Day Care Centre for welcoming our students and providing this valuable learning experience.
Year 10 Child Studies students connect with Holy Family classrooms
As part of their Term 2 unit on Children and Technology, Year 10 Child Studies students have had the opportunity to visit classrooms at Holy Family Primary School to observe and engage with Kindergarten students.
This hands-on experience allowed our students to gain valuable insights into how technology is used to support learning in the early years. Organised into small groups, they interacted with staff and students in a structured, supportive environment. Through observation and active participation, the Year 10s were able to see firsthand how teachers creatively integrate technology into literacy, numeracy, and play-based learning activities.
The visits not only deepened their understanding of the course content but also helped build their confidence, communication skills, and appreciation for early childhood education. Students had the opportunity to support Holy Family students with their reading, an incredibly rewarding experience that strengthened the connection between our two school communities.
We sincerely thank Adam Sullivan and his staff (K Green - Mrs Winkler, K Red - Ms Pieper and K Blue - Ms Regan) and students at Holy Family for welcoming us so warmly and providing such a rich learning opportunity for our Child Studies class. We look forward to continuing this wonderful collaboration throughout the term.

Volunteer Hub
At Xavier Catholic College, we believe in the power of giving back to the community and making a tangible difference. Our school motto, Act Justly, serves as a constant reminder that justice isn't just about fairness in the classroom or on the playing field but also about creating a society where we care for one another and work together to build a better world. Volunteering is one of the most meaningful ways we can live out this commitment to justice in our local community. Volunteering is more than just lending a helping hand. It's an opportunity to actively contribute to the wellbeing of others.

Love Your Library
"Nothing is pleasanter than exploring a library." Walter Savage Landor (1775-1864. English writer and poet)
The Library in the June Cole building is one of the best spaces at XCC. A central hub of the school community, we encourage the development of compassionate lifelong learners by supporting teaching, learning and well being. It helps that we are also a cool summer sanctuary and toasty warm winter refuge! Open from 8am until 3:30pm everyday (4:30 pm on Tuesday for senior study), our resources include the offices of careers (and science) teacher extraordinaire, Mr Julian White, and IT guru, Mr Connor Henderson. The library is staffed by Teacher Librarian Ms Natalie Lincoln, and Library Assistant Ms Suzanne Hughes. If you need to know something, someone here can definitely help you!
Each newsletter, we are going to showcase a feature of our wonderful space so the XCC community can get to know us better. This issue, we’d love you to know about our Oliver search terminal. This is where our catalogue can be searched online to see what resources we have. It is also where you can access Sora, our free online ebook and audiobook app that opens up a vast repository of reading and information. Access is through the Student Hub, or ask a library staff member for a tour on our library terminal.

9/10 Girls AFL Team Shine at Brunswick Heads Carnival
On Thursday 9 May, the 9/10 Girls AFL team travelled to Brunswick Heads to compete in an exhilarating day of footy. Despite being a team largely comprised of inexperienced players, the girls quickly proved they were a force to be reckoned with.
From the first bounce, the team showed outstanding determination, teamwork, and growth with every game. They played with heart and grit, steadily improving throughout the day and impressing spectators and coaches alike with their commitment and sportsmanship.
Their incredible run of form led them to the Grand Final — a remarkable achievement in itself. Facing a well-drilled Lindersfarne side in the final match, the girls battled bravely, ultimately falling just short with a final score of 10-0. Though the scoreboard didn’t go their way, their performance was nothing short of brilliant.
The team should be immensely proud of how they came together, supported one another, and represented their school with pride. This was a day full of learning, laughs, and a taste of what’s possible when passion meets teamwork.
Well done, girls!
Coach: Mrs Jessica Ferris

The 9/10 Boys had a tough day, and although they tried hard, they lost all three matches.

Australian Interschool Surfing Championship – Kirra Beach (14–16 May 2025)
The Australian Interschool Surfing Championship (AISC), held from 14 to 16 of May 2025, at the illustrious Kirra Beach on Queensland’s Gold Coast, represented the zenith of scholastic surfing competition globally. As the preeminent team-based school surfing event worldwide, it drew participation from over 100 teams, representing 65 schools from Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland.
This year’s competition was hosted across two designated arenas — the 'Main Bank' and the 'Secondary Bank' — both situated within the iconic Kirra Superbank, internationally renowned for its world-class breaks.
The first day of the championships commenced with the culturally rich AISC Opening Ceremony, mixing of the sands, followed by adaptive, condition-specific training exercises conducted at Cabarita Beach, allowing athletes to acclimate to the dynamic coastal conditions.
All participating Xavier College students exhibited exemplary performances, advancing seamlessly through the preliminary heats and into the final rounds. Although both Junior and Senior Boys' teams were narrowly eliminated during tightly contested early final heats, their commendable display of advanced surfing proficiency and strategic discipline was evident. Notably, this competition emphasised not only athletic skill but also necessitated meticulous coordination and effective time management. The capacity to facilitate timely entry and exit from the surf zone, within the constraints of a 30-minute heat, proved decisive. Xavier College competitors employed astute tactical judgment and collective discipline to outperform numerous formidable opponents during the initial phase of competition.
The final day of the event was marked by ideal surfing conditions, characterised by offshore winds and swells in the 3–5 ft range — conditions highly conducive to high-calibre performance. Demonstrating remarkable tenacity and cohesion, both Xavier College Girls' teams progressed through the Quarter and Semi-Final rounds to secure their positions among the top six school surfing teams in the nation. Competing against institutions renowned for their elite surfing academies, the Junior and Senior Girls' teams from Xavier College attained fifth and sixth place nationally, respectively — an outcome that significantly surpassed pre-competition expectations.
A particularly notable aspect of the Xavier College teams was the familial synergy brought by the Mundey and Hudson sisters, whose presence, combined with the talents of their fellow teammates, proved invaluable. Their composure under pressure, sophisticated team coordination, and time management culminated in a series of exceptional and enduring performances that underscored the depth and integrity of Xavier College’s surfing Team.
The Senior Boys team, comprising Josh Thomas, Owen Kilby, Joe Tancred, Calvin Greely, and Reuben Sharpe, exhibited exemplary leadership and professional maturity, consistently providing guidance, encouragement, and strategic support to their junior teammates throughout the commendable surfing competitions.
A huge thank you to all parents and teaching staff for their ongoing support. A special mention to our local surfing legend, James Wood (Surf Coach), for his ongoing early morning work with our Xavier Students.
Catch you all on the podium again next year.
Coach: Mr Clint McCarthy

Individual Achievements
2025 NSW Northern Country CCC Selection Trials
The NSW Northern Country CCC Selection Trials were held from Tuesday 8 to Wednesday 9 April at South West Rocks, with students representing the Lismore and Armidale Dioceses. The team had a training run on the afternoon of the 8th, providing the first opportunity to run together before the trials. Trial games were played in three 25-minute thirds against a well-drilled Newcastle/Maitland Diocese team, with a panel of three selectors overseeing the matches. The U15 boys played at 10:00 AM under sunny skies, while the U18s took the field at 12:30 PM as clouds rolled in—thankfully, the rain held off. Jack Solman and Nate Suckling were selected on the wing for the U15s NSW Northern Country CCC team, and Jett Flatley was chosen in the second row for the U18s team. Only six players from the Lismore/Armidale squad were selected, highlighting the strength of the Newcastle/Maitland side. Unfortunately, Declan Wallace re-injured his hamstring during Tuesday's training and was unable to trial; however, he was still named as a shadow player for the U18s and was selected for the President’s Team. Jed Lyon showed versatility and resilience, performing well despite playing several unfamiliar positions. The selected players will now progress to compete in Sydney in May, where they will vie for selection in the NSW CCC (State) Team against teams from NSW Southern Country, NSW Parramatta, NSW Sydney, NSW Metropolitan, and NSW Presidents.

Congratulations to Jack Solman on being selected for the 15s NSWCCC Country Development Team 2025! A fantastic achievement and well deserved!
Congratulations to Zali Raudonikis, who has been selected for the U/15 NSW CCC Netball team—an outstanding achievement, especially in junior netball, which has the highest number of students trialling across all sports. Congratulations to Zali on this impressive accomplishment!

Congratulations to Keilani Drikibau, Evangeline Woodburn, Zali Raudonikis, and Layla Keough, who recently competed at the Senior State Titles in Sydney. Over three days, teams from across New South Wales came together for a high-level tournament. The Under 15 Girls’ Netball team (Ballina) performed exceptionally, finishing runners-up in Division 2 — a fantastic achievement!
