Technology Requirements

New Devices: Minimum Specifications 

The following specifications apply to all new Xavier Catholic College students and to all current students who need to upgrade or replace their devices.

If your child will be using their device for demanding tasks in specialist subjects (such as Technologies and/or Creative Arts), you may wish to purchase a device with higher specifications.

While not mandatory, we highly recommend purchasing Accidental Damage Protection insurance.

BYOD Portal

Xavier Catholic College has partnered with JB Hi-Fi Education to offer a BYOD Portal for parents to view and purchase devices for their children. 

You will be asked to enter a School Code to see our preferred devices when accessing the portal. The College's School Code is XCCBallina.

Please note that families are not required to use this portal and are welcome to purchase a suitable device from their chosen supplier.

College Chromebooks

If your child previously purchased a device through the College's BYOD program, all warranty claims must be lodged via Acer or Dell (depending on the device). You'll need your service tag or SNID, which is located on the bottom of your Chromebook.
