Many thanks for visiting our College website. You are most welcome.
Xavier Catholic College Ballina first opened its doors in the year 2000 under the leadership of Mr Eric Littler. Today, the College continues to provide an opportunity for students to be educated at a fine Catholic school, which is a ministry of the Catholic Parish of St Francis Xavier, Ballina.
Xavier Catholic College is a co-educational secondary school in the Diocese of Lismore and is a Jesuit Companion School of Jesuit Education Australia.
Xavier Catholic College prides itself on being a comprehensive College where students of a wide range of abilities are given opportunities to fulfil their boundless potential. We focus on providing our students with a balanced education, incorporating a range of learning, spiritual, vocational, physical, service and recreational experiences.
Xavier Catholic College is an active and committed Christian community in the Catholic tradition. The students are at the heart of everything we do at the College. We are here to help the students, entrusted to us by their families, to find genuine fulfilment, happiness, and security in their lives. We emphasise self-discipline and responsibility, and our focused approach to pastoral care is central to our welfare and discipline structures and is the cornerstone of all our policies.
Since graduating the first HSC class of Year 12 students in 2005, the College has continued to achieve excellent academic and vocational results. Our inaugural graduating class set the standards for the following graduates, who also have excellent academic results and very strong outcomes in Vocational Education and Training, as well as career pathways. The outstanding success we achieve in the Higher School Certificate bears testimony to the students, staff and parent community that comprise Xavier Catholic College. Similarly, the strong results in our vocational courses have resulted in school-based traineeships, apprenticeships, national awards and valuable career pathways for many students.
The vital role of parents as the first educators of their children is central to our values at the College. Working in partnership with parents, staff at the College take very seriously this high level of trust placed on our doorstep each day. As such, we ensure that we establish and maintain strong working relationships with our most important partners – you, the parents. We at Xavier Catholic College believe that students will achieve success if the school and parents work in partnership with the students for common goals. Xavier Catholic College aims to be an open and welcoming place not only for the students but also for their parents and the whole community. Parents are always welcome to attend our College assemblies each fortnight, our liturgies and College masses and sporting carnivals and events. Research shows that the more a parent is actively involved in College life, the greater the chance of success for their children.
At Xavier Catholic College, we not only encourage a positive attitude to learning and a sense of satisfaction at having achieved to the best of one's ability, but we also value respect for people, the staff and the students. We are confident this will be the experience of all families and their students at Xavier Catholic College, and we invite you all to join this wonderful community and the opportunities it offers.
I invite you to browse our website to gain a feel for the diversity of academic, spiritual, cultural and personal development opportunities that the College provides. We are very proud of our College and I extend a sincere invitation to you to visit us, so we may show you the College and how proud we are to be a part of this wonderful community.
My very best wishes,
Mr Lee MacMaster
